Olamide is set to release his 10th music project “999”.One of the most consistent and versatile music artist in the industry. He has given rise to amazing talents like Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Lyta, Young John, Pheelz, Chinko Ekun, Davolee, DJ Enimoney, and his newest sensation Fireboy.

Baddo Sneh as he’s popularly known made the announcement via his Instagram account yesterday.

The 9-track EP which features 8 artists including his long time collaborator Phyno will be his first Extended Playlist since the start of his music career.

What’s amazing about this project is that none of the songs on the tracklist have so far been released. No promotional singles! This is yet another surprise release from Olamide after his ‘Lagos Nawa’ album in November 2017.

From the tracklisting and colorfully animated album art by Duks, we look forward, to be taken back to the ‘Voice of the Streets’ Olamide; The ‘Ilefo Illuminati’ Olamide.

And if this is the case, it comes as no surprise after the Hip-hop culture has witnessed a bit of shaking from the beef alerts between M.I Abaga and Vector The Viper, Davolee, and Dremo, and most recently Blaqbonez and Kenyan veteran Khaligraph Jones.

My bet is, Olamide eagerly wants to make amends for sleeping on the culture that he built his legacy on and that endeared him to the hearts of his cult-following admiration from fans.

Recall, in 2017 M.I released his most controversial single yet ‘You Rappers Should Fix Up Your Lives’. Although Olamide has been silent on the issues discussed on the track which pointed accusing fingers at him as it did to all other Nigerian rappers, I believe it is on this project that Baddo will finally speak out.

The Nigerian Hip-hop is in dear need of this sort of awakening. Indeed, these our South brothers are out here killing us!
