Hip-hop’ Billionaire Jay-Z, has released his end of year playlist which features his favorite songs of the year. He created the playlist on his independently owned streaming platform Tidal. And I’m loving the line up.
First off, Genius’ community’s No. 1 song of 2019, ‘Ballin” by Mustard & Roddy Ricch of course sits comfortably among the songs enlisted on the colourful playlist. The playlist titled Jay-Z’ Year End Picks 2019 has our very own Burna Boy’s song, Collateral Damage on it.
The song is off his 2020 Grammy nominated album, African Giant which was recently declared the most streamed African Album of the year on Audiomack. Burna seems to have made a vow not to look back since the release of his 2018 album ‘Outside’.
This comes as a pleasant surprise to us his native fans, but also serves as an indication that the quality of music produced in Nigeria is highly exportable.Just in August, Rema’ smash hit Dumebi also made it to former United States President Barack Obama’ 2019 summer playlist.
Jay-Z’ E.O.Y playlist includes other songs from DaBaby, Drake, Travis Scott, Koffee, Megan Thee Stallion, J. Cole, Kanye West, Jhene Aiko, Young thug and Tyler, The Creator.
Burna Boy who also has the highest number of monthly listeners on spotify currently standing at a staggering 12.58M+ looks like his numbers are about to spike yet again.
